The NSDI Geoportal serves as a starting point for accessing spatial data sources that are, according to the NSDI Act, part of National Spatial Data Infrastructure. Basic maintenance of the National geoportal refers to monitoring and adjusting system parameters in order to ensure its optimum functionality, elimination of incidents or irregularities and providing help to system users. |

Basic maintenance includes:
1. Preventive maintenance - monitoring, adjustment of system parameters within its functionality.
2. Corrective maintenance - eliminating downtime, incidents and irregularities.
3. Assistance to users - giving instructions to end users. |
